The homeowners were, quite understandably, drawn to this historic Baltimore row house for its scale and detail, reminding them of their life in Europe. However, they sought to infuse their own design style into the home—a fusion of the past and present. With a penchant for mid-century furniture and design, they introduced a fresh and contemporary layer that adds a touch of newness and color to the rich heritage of the house.

historic charm

The delightful character of an older property shines through in remarkable ways, such as the play of light upon a weathered plastered wall, distinct from the smooth finish of a new build plasterboard, or the subtleties of a hand-crafted cornice. These nuances present an opportunity to accentuate the unique contrasts that define the space.
