Dewey Beach Vacation Home

This modern beach home is designed to feel calm, grounded, and comfortable year-round. Warm wood ceilings and floors run throughout the house, balancing the coastal setting with a sense of softness and permanence. Large windows frame ocean and neighborhood views, keeping the connection to the outdoors front and center - even on a gray, rainy day like we had.

The interiors are clean and minimal, with thoughtful details that add warmth without distraction. Kitchens and living spaces are open and functional, while bedrooms and bathrooms feel quiet and restorative. Natural materials, soft textiles, and a restrained palette allow the architecture and light to take the lead.

Photographing the home for DC based Interior Designer, Jodi Macklin, in overcast weather highlighted its livability beyond sunny summer days. The rain softened the views and brought a sense of stillness to the spaces, emphasizing that this is a beach house meant not just for weekends and sunshine, but for everyday living in every season.
